“If My people who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
There are many Churches and groups of praying Christians who have heard the cry of God’s heart through this verse and have responded with a desire and a willingness to lay down their own agenda and follow after His. Since the very early days of Living Waters, this has been a key verse, in terms of how God has challenged us. We have sought to die to our own sinful desires and seek after Him in a way that we have never done before.
This verse contains three promises – that God will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land. If ever there was a time when we needed God’s mercy, forgiveness and healing, it is now. There are four things that God requires of us, things that will result in the fulfilment of those three promises. They are:
- Humble themselves
- Seek My face
- Turn from their wicked ways
“Then I will hear from Heaven and heal their land.”
It is from this perspective that we felt prayer was to become one of the major pillars of this ministry, hence the name “7:14 Prayer” taken from 2 Chronicles 7:14.
We have now been praying and interceeding for over 10 years, firstly for our local area which we call our Galilee, for our nation, for Israel and for the World as the Lord leads. We have seen answers to many prayers and await the outworking of others. We are actively involved with other prayer ministries – Notts Prayer Network, the World Prayer Centre and others.
Over the last decade we have witnessed a great increase in the number of people here in Britain and across the world whom God is calling to prayer from two’s or three’s to larger groups to prayer and worship 24:7. We find the internet to be a valuable tool to keep informed and to be encouraged of what God is doing through other prayer ministries throught the world.
